Dreams and Hopes is a United Sates 501(c)(3) organization in Texas to provide financial/material assistance for families and school-age children living around Lake Atitlan Guatemala and to support other locally-run, like-minded NGOs operating in Latin America. Currently, the primary partner of Dreams and Hopes is Sueños y Esperanzas, a formal Guatemalan non-governmental organization (NGO).

You can direct your gift to the general fund of Dreams and Hopes, specific program/project or to pay your volunteer team member fee. Your donation to Dreams and Hopes, a 501(c)(3) organization, is tax deductible as directed by your tax attorney/accountant.

General Fund

The Dreams and Hopes Board of Directors will use your gift where it is needed most.

Sueños y Esperanzas operations

  • $50/month or $600 one-time:
    • ensure a local Sueños y Esperanzas program staff member is paid a fair wage
  • $80/month or $960 one-time:
    • ensure electricity is available to the Center every day

Scholarship Program – sponsor one year of a student’s school expense (enrollment fee, tuition, supplies, tutoring, computer lab, health care)

  • $50/month or $600 one-time:
    • High School Student scholarship for one year
  • $35/month or $420 one-time:
    • Middle School Student scholarship for one year
  • $25/month or $300 one-time:
    • Elementary School Student scholarship
  • $100:
    • Parent Training Session including materials/supplies/refreshments for 50 parents

Abejitas Program

  • $250: Materials/supplies for one month
  • $100: Parent Training Session for 50 includes materials/supplies/refreshments

We-Connect Computer Lab Program

  • $700: Laptop Computer
  • $50: Internet service for one month

Emotional Assistance Program

  • $50: One hour of counseling provided by a licensed therapist or psychologist

Community Assistance Program

  • $70: home water filter bucket system with a filter usable for 10 years
  • $220: vented and efficient cookstove (construction materials, mason, and classes for family on use and care)
