Dreams and Hopes was founded as a United Sates 501(c)(3) organization in Oregon to create the opportunity for individuals and corporations outside of Guatemala to support the work of Sueños y Esperanzas. Sueños y Esperanzas is a formal Guatemalan non-governmental organization (NGO).

Together we can give hope to and empower families affected by poverty and lack of opportunity. You can direct your gift to a specific need or to support the organization as a whole.

General support

The Dreams and Hopes Board of Directors and Sueños y Esperanzas staff will use your gift where needed most.

Support all programs

  • $50/month or $600 one-time:
    • ensure a local Sueños y Esperanzas program staff member is paid a fair wage
  • $80/month or $960 one-time:
    • ensure electricity is available to the Center every day

Scholarship Program – sponsor one year of a student’s school expense

  • $47/month or $500 one-time:
    • High School Student scholarship includes enrollment fee, tuition, school supplies, tutoring, computer lab, health care
  • $30/month or $360 one-time:
    • Middle School Student scholarship includes enrollment fee, tuition, school supplies, tutoring, computer lab, health care
  • $25/month or $300 one-time:
    • Elementary School Student scholarship includes school supplies, tutoring, computer lab, health care
  • $100:
    • Parent Training Session for 50 includes materials/supplies/refreshments

Abejitas Program

  • $250: Materials/supplies for one month
  • $100: Parent Training Session for 50 includes materials/supplies/refreshments

We-Connect Computer Lab Program

  • $700: Laptop Computer
  • $50: Internet service for one month

Mental Health Services Program

  • $50: One hour of counseling by licensed therapist or psychologist

Special Projects

  • home water filter system
    • $70/family or $700 one-time to help 10 families
      • home water filter bucket system
      • water filter usable for 10 years
  • vented and efficient cookstove
    • $220/stove construction materials, mason, and classes for family on use and care
